In the commemoration program organized before the anniversary of the August 17 Earthquake, the exercise of the volunteers trained by Arnavutköy Municipality's Disaster Training Center was breathtaking, applying a scenario where a person was rescued.
The Disaster Training Center in Arnavutköy trains hundreds of volunteers so that they can respond properly to disasters. The Training Center provides trainings to everyone who volunteers starting from primary schools kids without age limits. In the demonstration exercise organized in the August 17 Earthquake Memorial Program, volunteers practiced the trainings they had received on topics such as fire extinguishing, search and rescue in debris, search and rescue in depth and climbing, etc. by means of scenarios. In the exercise, everyone held their breath when a person who was under the rubble was being rescued according to the scenario.
"We have provided trainings to over 3 thousand citizens so far"
Speaking about the Disaster Training Center, Arnavutköy Mayor Ahmet Haşim Baltacı said, "I wish Allah's mercy to all citizens who lost their lives in disasters. Such incidents remind us how important it is to be prepared for disasters. We built this Disaster Training Center where we are currently in. There are many simulations and trainings related to disasters here, and we always continue to raise awareness of our citizens. So far, more than 3 thousand citizens have received training at the Disaster Training Center, Afem, and we have also created a training area for many search and rescue teams throughout the province. Our Arnavutköy Municipality Search and Rescue Team (ARKUR) is a competent team that has decisively demonstrated success in disasters. Our trainings will always continue and our team will be accredited this year. Today, we are adding a large Search and Rescue Trailer into our inventory".
Besides ARKUR, YARKUR and ANDA teams supported the breathtaking exercises, while Arnavutköy District Governor Hüseyin Nail Anlar thanked the volunteers who participated in the exercises and the students who received training.

As part of the memorial program, the Search and Rescue Trailer, which is unique to Arnavutköy Municipality with its design and can produce its own energy, was added to the inventory of the Arnavutköy Municipality Search and Rescue Team. Also, we added a cutting edge technology "hydraulic cutting machine, a large crusher, a hydraulic sorting machine, a small and a large generator, a specimen cutting machine, a sound locator, a lighting set, a small crusher, a woodworking chisel, telescopic stair, respiratory set, a tripod, drills, a reciprocating saw, extension cables, ropes and related materials, under-wreckage cameras, a hoisting pillow, a megaphone and fire extinguishers, etc." for using in search and rescue works.
Mustafa CANDAROĞLU, originally from Cide, Kastamonu, was born on December 5, 1984, in Arnavutköy, Istanbul.
He graduated from Boğazköy Primary School in 1996, Asfa Middle School in 1999, and Sultan Fatih Anatolian High School in 2002. Completing his undergraduate education at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the International Cyprus University, Candaroğlu graduated in Interior Architecture in 2008. He completed his military service as a Short-Term Soldier at the Kayseri Regional Gendarmerie Command. After military service, Candaroğlu completed his master's education in Educational Institutions Management at Ibn Haldun University, and volunteered in various NGOs.
He served as Deputy President of the Arnavutköy Kastamonulular Association, and was a member of the boards of Arnavutköy Sports Club and Arnavutköy Beşiktaşlılar Association.
Being involved in politics throughout his education and social life, Candaroğlu served on the UNIAK Board of Directors in 2004 and actively entered politics in the Arnavutköy Belde Youth Branch in 2008. In Arnavutköy, which became a district in 2009, he held positions in District Congresses as follows: • 2009 as an Alternate Board Member of the District Primary Committee, • 2011 as a Board Member of the District Primary Committee, • 2013 as a Board Member of the District Primary Committee responsible for R&D and Local Governments. • Elected as District President in the 2018 and 2020 Congresses, Candaroğlu continues to serve as the AK Party Arnavutköy District President.
Born, raised, and currently living in Arnavutköy, Candaroğlu always finds happiness in serving in the AK Party, which practices politics based on the principle of "We love the created for the sake of the creator." After working for a long time as an Interior Architect in a family company, he continues to serve as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Arnavutköy Bilgi Kalem College, which he founded in 2019.
