"We worked for our young people during the pandemic period"
Haşim Baltacı, the Mayor of Arnavutköy, said that they have significant works on raising the young generation in the best way possible and added: "We have been working intensively on finding ways so that young people, who have had to spend the pandemic period at home, can recover the time they lost more effectively after the pandemic ends. Provided that our existing youth centers continue, we have transformed some of these youth centers. In addition, we have established new places and new venues. We have built book cafes as new spaces offering young people the opportunities to meet their social needs. And we are building more and more in our neighborhoods. The most important of these are the recently-opened Cahit Zarifoğlu, our library in the Haraççi neighborhood, which we restored in accordance with the original and turned into a Library of Islamic Works, and our Erdem Bayazıt Library, which is also located in Haraççı. Our buildings located in İmrahor square and one next to Hadımköy historical station buildings will be put into service as book cafes very soon. In addition, Mehmet Akif İnan Library, located in Nenehatun Square, will meet with book lovers very soon."

The Library of Islamic Works Opened
Bringing many works with the value of historical monuments in the district after years of use, Arnavutköy Municipality restored the historical mosque built by Sultan Abdülhamid in the Haraççi neighborhood in the name of his daughter, Sultan Naime. Mostly consisting Islamic resources, the library features chat areas on the lower and the upper floors. This library will revive history and feature religious conversations as well as allowing Islamic research.

After opening the Cahit Zarifoğlu Library featuring 4,500 books during the pandemic period, another library was constructed in the Haraççı Neighborhood and was named after Erdem Bayazıt, one of the seven wise men.
In the library, where there are 6 thousand books, citizens are able to find the books they are looking for quickly by using new generation intelligent systems. There are 3 classrooms and a conference room for 100 people in the building where there are 20 computers.
